Jim Ritchie is a Senior Consulting Actuary with Bolton. He has over 28 years of experience in actuarial and employee benefits consulting, evaluating retirement program risk, plan redesign, and management of large, complex projects and teams. Over the years, Jim has been the lead actuary on a diverse number of clients and plans, including a Federal agency, ERISA single employer plans, church plans, public employer plans, a high-profile sports league, postretirement medical plans, and nonqualified plans. Jim has extensive experience on a variety of special projects including administrative operation reviews, early retirement windows, plan redesign (including cash balance), plan mergers, spin-offs, and plan terminations. He also provides proactive strategic consulting such as pension de-risking opportunities, examining the use of debt to fund pension liabilities, projections, and evaluation of client’s funding, financial, benefit and investment policies. Jim has been a frequently speaker on pension and retirement topics including speaking at the Enrolled Actuaries Meeting. Credentials include Associate in Society of Actuaries, Enrolled Actuary under ERISA, and Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
