Kim Keating is Managing Director and leader of Bolton's Rewards practice. She brings more than 25 years of experience in compensation design, total rewards strategy, and organizational change, work she has done in the boardroom, in the field, and at the firm she built.

Before joining Bolton, Kim served as Chief People Officer at Conservation International and Mercy Corps, and as Chief HR Officer at the YMCA of Central Maryland, leading global and regional workforces through complex reorganizations and periods of transformative growth. Earlier in her career, she founded Keating Advisors, a strategic compensation consulting firm she led for 18 years until its acquisition in 2022. During that time, she served more than 100 organizations across the nonprofit, financial services, education, technology, and professional services sectors, and developed the Talent Alignment Model™, an integrated framework connecting culture, career, competencies, and compensation to organizational performance.

Kim partners with executive teams and boards to design compensation structures and total rewards programs that hold up under scrutiny and drive real performance. She specializes in benchmarking, total rewards design, organizational restructuring, and change management that sticks.

She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in finance from Southern Methodist University, and has served on nonprofit boards and advisory committees including the Sandberg Goldberg Bernthal Family Foundation and the McLean Project for the Arts.
